This slide show shows step-by-step construction of both Tom's 24' dome, and the 42" telescope. The dome was my first construction project ever, and took four months to build. Construction started in October of 2002. I designed the dome construction on my own, after visiting many observatories around the country. Much help with construction was received by my friend and neighbor Jack Newton.

The simple scope construction was started after the dome was completed. It only took about a week for basic construction, but of course a project like this is never done and is always being tweaked. The 36" gear and diagonal holder were made for me by another friend, Mike Zammitt.

If you are planning on building a dome, I will be happy to show you around.
